House rules

Future Family finds respectful communication, the atmosphere on its website and the safety of its visitors extremely important. That is why we have drawn up a number of house rules that we expect every user to adhere to.

YOUR PROFILE

  1. Future Family is managed by the support team. The administrator reserves the right, without giving any reason, to deprive visitors of the right to (profile) texts / posts, change or delete them, in the opinion of the administrator if they misbehave.
  2. Future Family values personal, transparent and honest contact.
    If you actively want to use the Member area you must have a ‘complete’ profile, including at least one recognizable photo of yourself. Incomplete profiles will be removed from the Member area by the administrator after a warning.
  3. The profile page is intended for aspiring parents and non-anonymous donors. Profiles in which there is no question of wishful parenthood or donorship are removed.

WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED ON FUTURE FAMILY?

  1. Do you want to be a donor? Then we ask you to leave the initial contact with the prospective parent (s). This is not a rule, but is considered desirable by most prospective parents.
    Are you looking for co-parenting (shared upbringing, care and duty), then the initial contact can be initiated from both parties.
  2. Sexist, pornographic, racist or discriminatory contributions or statements that are offensive or offensive are prohibited and will be removed.
  3. Placing text and images (photos) of third parties. This is only allowed if permission has been given by the relevant person and author / photographer.
  4. Placing (disguised) advertisements, e-mail addresses or spam.
  5. Images of cartoons, nude or “fake” photos will be removed and will result in the deletion of your account.
  6. Personal text / discussion with demonstrably privacy sensitive issues will be removed by the administrator.

TIPS FOR SAFE USE

Future Family cares for you when contacting others in a safe way . Here are some tips on how you can contribute to your own safety;

  1. Be careful about sharing private information until you feel you can trust the other person. Future Family never shows your surname, address or contact details. Be careful when sharing this information. After all, there are plenty of other things to talk about.
  2. Payment for your membership is done in a secure manner. Are members asking you for money or do you suspect you are in contact with a scammer? Do not respond to this and contact the Future Family support team directly to report this.
  3. This site is not intended to engage in sexual contact. If you get the impression that the other person is approaching you for this reason, do not go into this and immediately report the conversation to the Support team.
  4. Do you want to meet with a possible co-parent or donor? Meet only when you are ready. Do not initially meet at home, but make an appointment in a public place, such as a café. We advise you not to wait months, because you will only feel a click in real life.
  5. Did you meet with a member but you didn’t click with this person? We understand that you are disappointed, but would like to invite you to interact with other people. You may have to meet with several people (just like with dating) before you have find a good match.
  6. Did you find your match? We recommend that you spend at least a year getting to know each other, especially with co-parenting. Have many conversations about each other’s expectations, values and norms and manner of upbringing. Also read the Future Family Library, including medical advice on medical tests, among other things. Consider having conversations with a mediating Legal expert. In the last phase, start with drawing up a legal parental plan and / or donor contract. A notary / Legal expert can help you with this.

COMMUNICATION

We expect all members to communicate openly and honestly online and / or offline about:

  • the nature of their desire to have children;
  • knowledge about the number of conceived (donor) children;
  • discuss the status of their own health, diagnosed STDs and hereditary disorders at all times and, if necessary, examine them during the introductory phase.
  • When continuing offline into a co-parentship or donorship agreement we expect both parties to be open about their identity and personal information (i.e. full name, date of birth, residence etc).

SOMEONE IS NOT FOLLOWING THESE HOUSE RULES, WHAT CAN I DO?
Report your experience to the Support team, you can do this by reporting the profile (at the bottom of a profile) or the conversation in the inbox. The support team will look into the reported profile or conversation and take steps when possible.

The house rules are part of the General Terms and Conditions.
