Why do I have to sign-up and create a profile?
Future Family exists for a specific group, namely prospective parents and known donors. They value their privacy and wish that not just everyone sees their personal information. Your full profile and photo is only visible to people who are (paying) members.
A profile includes a first name, place of residence, biological characteristics and information about yourself and your desire to have children (or become a donor). This allows you to search specifically to find the right match.
When will my profile appear on the Member page?
Your profile will automatically appear on the Member page when you complete the following two steps: First, make sure your email address is verified. After you have registered you will automatically receive an email in your inbox. Click on the link in the email and your email address has been verified.
After you become a paying member you can create your full profile. When your profile is complete, it will automatically appear on the Member page. This is when you can start sending and receiving messages.
Do I have to create a full profile?
If you only want to look around the site, you don’t need a full profile. If you want to actively contact members, your profile must be complete. Other members want to see the same information from you as you want from them. Therefore, make sure that your profile is complete before contacting someone.
You will see that a profile picture makes it easier to find a suitable match.
Who can view my personal profile?
After you have signed up and become a member, you have access to all profile information and photos of members. If you want to get in touch with others, you need a full profile. This is because other members would like to see the information of you as you can view of them.
Your full profile and photo is only visible to people who are (paying) members. They will find your profile via the ‘Member’ page.
Email verification
I did not receive a verification email, what should I do?
The verification email is automatically sent to your inbox. It is possible that this email has ended up in your spam / junk mail. So check your other inboxes and make sure you add our email address to ‘trusted or safe senders’ or add us to your contacts.
Still haven’t found the email? Double check if you’ve entered the right email address, then when you log into your account you can send the verification email again.
Recover password
I don’t remember my password, what should I do?
Go to the login page and click on ‘Forgot your password’. Enter the email address you signed up with and you will receive an email in your inbox that will allow you to reset your password.
Search members and Get in contact
I sent a contact request/message to someone, but they haven’t replied, what can I do?
When you send someone a contact reuqest, this person will receive an automated email notification in his or her email inbox. This person can accept or cancel you request. You will only receive a notification about an accepted request.
Ofcourse it is always possible someone is on holidays or has no time to respond for other reasons. Lastly, it is possible that this person is talking to a member and is not open to making new contacts. We encourage everyone to send a reply within 48 hours, but of course they are not obliged to do so.
Are there as many male as female members?
The number of members varies almost every day. In general, the distribution is 60% female and 40% male. Our support team will continuously make efforts to ensure that the number of members increases as evenly as possible.
Quality and Safety
Is Future Family a safe site?
We have secured all pages on Future Family with a so-called SSL certificate. This certificate ensures that everything you enter is sent securely to our database. You can recognize a website with an SSL certificate by the lock in your internet browser and by the https for the url of the website in the address window in your browser.
Are the profiles on Future Family checked and verified?
Only complete profiles are shown on the ‘Member’ page. If profiles do not comply with the house rules and general conditions we ask members to report the profile or conversation. We can then monitor and take action if necessary.
Your profile
How can I pause my profile?
You can ‘pause’ your profile yourself. Go to “My account” and click on “Pause profile”. When your profile is paused new members cannot send you a contact request. Members you already have contact with can still send you messages and you can can still message them. Note: Pausing your profile on the Member page does not stop your membership.
I can not log in
If you block all cookies on your phone or laptop, login will not work. Disabling cookies will also affect other functions and features. Also double check if you’ve entered the email address you registered with and if you’ve entered the correct password (maybe you’ve changed it?).
Membership and Payments
What are membership prices?
You can find the Full membership options here. When you are a Full Member you can contact as many members as you want.
Starting or cancelling a membership
Log-in to your Future Family account, go to ’My Account’, then click ‘Membership’. You can manage all details of your membership yourself.
Your membership will automatically renew and be charged unless you cancel it at least 1 day before the end of your current member period. Once your membership period has ended, you will no longer be able to see photos and send and receive messages from (new) members.
Delete your account
Go to account and click “delete my account” at the bottom.
We will manually delete your account and details from the database within 14 days. Deleting your account will automatically terminate your subscription. Note that you have to cancel you subscription yourself if it will renew within the next 14 days.
We advise to keep your account until you have decided to end the search for a co-parent / donor or until a pregnancy has started. It may be that you or the donor / co-parent are unable to find an agreement and a pregnancy is succesful.
