Organisation & Mission

Future Family is a social enterprise with a ‘not for profit’ business model. This means that we put our social mission first. The membership fee is intended to bring together as many aspiring parents as possible in a personal and transparent way.

MISSION

Future Family offers an online meeting place where aspiring parents can connect.
Aspiring parents are people with a desire to become a parent, but without a partner to biologically fulfill this wish (together). There are many ways to become a parent. Future Family helps our members connect with someone who is looking to start a family (or help) in a similar way.

Future Family creates awareness about the position of aspiring parents, known donors and their children.
The Library and Magazine provide information and experiences, this can help you better understand co-parenting, donorship, children, family constructions and yourself. This way you can increase your chances for a well-considered family construction with a solid foundation.

VISION

How do we see ourselves in the world of tomorrow?

A partner is not a prerequisite for parenthood
Finding a romantic partner with to start a family with (in a biological way) is no longer a must for parenthood. Through co-parenting and donorship becoming a parent is fundamentally possible for everyone, regardless of a person’s relationship status or their sexual orientation.

Aspiring parents and donors find each other all over the world.
In order to get in touch with an aspiring parent or donor, you are no longer dependent on just your own network. Through Future Family, aspiring parents and non-anonymous donors find each other in a transparent and personal way.

Every child knows their biological roots
Future Family fights for the right to roots for every child, worldwide. This means for every (donor) child, regardless of his or her age, the freedom to know who his / her biological parents are and possibly to build a bond with them. Future Family thereby contributes to the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Anonymous donorship is no longer allowed in the future.

WHY

Forming your identity
Knowing where we come from allows us to recognize the essence of our existence and empowers us to better understand ourselves. It is a central focus of being human, to feel, to be complete. It is also a reality denied to thousands of children around the world, who are adopted or who have an anonymous donor as their biological father.

Identity donor en receiver
“But aren’t there clinics and hospitals where you can find a donor?”
In a clinic, the donor does not know his recipient (s) and the recipient (s) does not know the donor.
This means that an aspiring mother has never met the man she is going to have a child from! Conversely, the donor cannot get to know the woman to whom he is donating, he does not know whether a pregnancy has occurred and who the baby is. Future Family only has known donors. The donor knows his recipient (s) and the recipient (s) knows / know the donor.

Shortage of donor men
Future Family believes that more men want to become a donor when they can meet and get to know the aspiring mother (s). A persons goodwill grows exponentially with personal connection!
